The production of the Silhouette Group in Upper Austria is located in a water protection area with high environmental standards. Two water treatment plants and a closed production cycle ensure that the water used is utilized multiple times. It is treated, kept in a cycle, and, after final cleaning, responsibly returned to the environment. In our Lens Lab, we also ensure that no microplastics enter the environment.

ECO PPX – bio-circular frame material

For athletes who want more –
for your sport and our nature
Since 2025, we have been using ECO PPX for all evil eye sports eyewear. The bio-circular frame material is made from organic residual materials and completely replaces fossil raw materials. This reduces the carbon footprint of material production without compromising on function and performance.

Driven by Nature
As part of the Silhouette Group, we consistently rely on renewable energy. Since 2022, our sports eyewear production has been CO₂-neutral through compensation – confirmed by TÜV Austria. Our own photovoltaic systems supply around 15% of the required energy; we obtain the remaining electricity from renewable sources such as solar, wind, and hydropower.
„100% natural gas-free“
At the same time, we are consistently driving the decarbonization of our production: Since April 2026, our production has been 100% natural gas-free. By electrifying central processes, we save hundreds of megawatt-hours of natural gas and over 100 tons of CO₂ annually. In doing so, we reduce emissions where we have a direct influence.

Sustainable Packaging
We also rely on environmentally friendly materials for our packaging. Our folding boxes consist of at least 70% recycled material and FSC-certified fibers, the eyewear case is made of 80% recycled EVA, and the microfiber bag is made of 95% recycled PET. In this way, we reduce the use of new raw materials without compromising on protection and function.
